Local Area Information

The village is ideally situated for those wanting to visit Haynes Motor Museum, The Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, Glastonbury and its Tor, the wildlife park at Cricket St Thomas, Montacute House, Stonehenge along with other attractions.  Yeovil is the nearest town with a good number of supermarkets along with independent shops, a cinema and a theatre.  Bath, Exeter and Bristol are a short drive away as is the interesting town of Sherborne with its independent shops, a castle and an abbey.  Queen Camel itself has a good number of walks close by and is about an hours drive from the wonderful Jurassic Coast and the holiday town of Weymouth.  Bath and West showground is around a 20 minute drive away and there are many events held there throughout the year.  For those keen on horse racing Salisbury Racecourse is around 50 minutes away.

Queen Camel itself has a pub which serves food, a very useful shop and post office, therapy centre and even a pottery!
